The Grey Tower

If you wish to create a character to join the Grey Tower, please fill in the following application form. Your application will be read through, and if appropriate you'll be added to the listings. Occasionally we have to ask people to change their applications due to, for example, an unrealistic biography, so please make sure your application is realistic and believable.

Please take five minutes to read about the 3 Aims and 4 Rules of the Grey Tower before you join. You accept these basic conditions when you submit your application and join the Tower. Also, please read the RP guidelines

Channelers! When you are eventually Raised to Accepted or Dedicated, you will be asked to choose an Ajah of aspiration. It is not necessary to choose yet, but if you are already SURE which Ajah you will choose, here's an opportunity to get started with that Ajah. You are advised, however, to keep an open mind at this stage. If you are not yet 100% certain of which Ajah you will choose when you are Raised to Aes Sedai or Asha'man, please select "Unknown". You will be assigned an available mentor of any Ajah, and you can consider what your Ajah choice will be throughout your time as a Novice or Soldier, with guidance and help from Aes Sedai and Asha'man. If you are already 100% certain which Ajah you will choose, please indicate here, so that we can assign you a mentor of the appropriate Ajah.

What is your Channeler's strength in the One Power? Before submitting the necessary information, please make sure you have given enough consideration to the strength of your character. The temptation is to create a person who is very strong in the Power, able to perform pretty much every weave known. Yet it can be equally enjoyable to play a weaker character; roleplaying limitations and ways to get around them can often involve more thought, more intrigue, and can make for a lot of fun. So, please take the time to think what you want to get out of your character - there are no restrictions or regulations that make you choose a weaker strength, and strong characters are welcome, but we want you to be sure you've made the right decision for your character. Here is a reference for One Power strenght.

Please submit a description of your character's physical appearance and personality. This doesn't just mean hair and eye colour, but also things like how he/she behaves, reacts, what kind of facial expressions he/she uses, and any other distinguishing features.

Please submit a biography of your character.

If you are a channeler, think about whether you are a wilder (with a block), or a person with the spark inborn, or someone who just has the ability to learn. You may not join as someone who has already mastered the One Power.

If you are aiming to become a Warder, think about your character's level of experience in weaponry. With few exceptions, your character is very young and thus inexperienced. The training in the Warder Yards is meant to shape your character's skills from the beginning of their lives. The saying that it's hard to teach an old dog how to sit applies for mankind too.

You may write this either In Character, as a short piece of fiction or Out Of Character, as a biography. Examples of good biographies include Dedicated Lucan din Nicander Riven Sail and Aleatha Sedai's, which are written IC, and Firredal's and Aviaine Sedai's, which are written more OOC.

A MINIMUM LENGTH OF 250 WORDS IS REQUIRED.

This bulletpoint is ONLY to be completed if you are already currently on the Member Listings as another character here at the Tower, and wish a secondary character. You MUST first check the secondary character rules to make sure this joining form is allowed. In compliance with these rules, you will have to declare the name and rank of your primary character (an Aes Sedai/Asha'man/Gaidin of at least one month's standing) in this box:

Please wait for a reply to your application before you begin posting at the Tower. If you don't get a reply within a week of sending your application form, the chances are it didn't go through. So the best thing to do is email the admin team and they'll sort things out for you.
